Connecting the Great Central Channel
The Great Central Channel is the meridian that corresponds to the chakras. The touch for holding these points is gentle connection. Pressure is not necessary, but it is important to feel “on” the point.
The Great Central Channel consists of two arcs: The Conception Vessel and the Governing Vessel. This qi moves in a circular motion up the back and down the front. This channel is very important for the health of the whole being as it harmonizes and centers the individual. It governs spiritual and emotional issues. It corresponds to the chakras of yoga and when balanced through acupressure, can bring an individual to a greater awareness.
Large vortices that include several acupressure points along the Great Central Channel are chakras. When holding the points associated with chakras, it is not necessary to be exact. In some cases, it may be more comfortable to hold using several fingers or the palm. Acupressure points are normally on the surface. The chakras are centered in the body but can be affected from the surface by the related acupressure point.
This exercise is simple.
• With your right hand hold the very top of your head (GV 20 “One Hundred Meeting”)
• With your left hand hold between the eyebrows (GV 24.5 “Third Eye”)
• Move your left hand and hold the hole at the base of the throat (CV 22 “Heaven Rushing Out”)
• Move your left hand and hold the center of the sternum (CV 17 “Sea of Tranquility”)
• Move your left hand and hold 3 finger widths below the sternum (CV 12 “Center of Power”)
• Move your left hand and hold 3 finger widths below the navel (CV 6 “Sea of Energy”)
• Move your left hand and hold on top of the pubic bone (CV 2 “Curved Bone”)
• Keep your left hand on CV 2 and Move your right hand and hold the tailbone (GV 1 “Long Strength”)

Communication among the points on the Great Central Channel is natural, and clear and open communication is harmonizing and energizing. When doing any acupressure on yourself, do not attempt to move energy, allow the vessel to find its own balance. The Crown Chakra when open, is a good ruler for the others. That is why the Crown Chakra is used as a base through most of this connection exercise.
Breathing
Breathe in up from the toes to the top of the head; breath out down the front from the top of the head to the toes. Up the back and down the front.
Breathing with Acupoints: With your right hand hold the left acupressure point Lung 1 called “Letting Go”. This point is located on the upper lateral side chest in the indentation between the shoulder and the ribcage, three finger-widths below the collarbone. With your left hand hold Spleen 13 called “Rushing Door” midline of the thigh between the groin and the hip socket. Breathe as many times as you want holding these points. Hold each side.
With your hand still on Spleen 13, grasp Triple Warmer 13 called “Heavenly Bone” which is located on the trapezius muscle on the top point of the scapula.
